My Dad the Photographer
I can remember all the times that dad used to call me down stairs he wanted to test the new camera or new lighting and I got stuck being his subject. but the one thing that I got from my father was his gift of his love for photography. I remember I played hooky from school to go to a protest rally in New York City and I took photographs, one photograph was of a girl holding American flag sitting on the floor she had her head touching the American flag and I took it and a Photographer from Newsweek came up today and said, that's going to make it great photograph. his card and said print up several 8x10 photos and bring them to the Newsweek office. when I did I get paid $200 for that shot but I never knew if it was ever publish, that was a May of 1971. I truly believe that I got my love of photography from my father and I am glad that he was proud of me and enjoyed the photographs that I produce. In February of this year I was stuck at home couldn't go out due to the back surgery, so I couldn't go out to take pictures. The only subjects I had were my three cats, two of which were very photogenic. the photos that I most recently took, Dad loved, especially photos of my cats and the expressions they had on their faces.
I thank my father for giving me his love of a photography and sorry that I can't be there to say goodbye in person.
I love you Dad goodbye with love
