Melissa Lynn Denis Millan – The Passing of a Warrior
On Wednesday September 7, 2022 at approximately 5:05AM, at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, our beloved Melissa Lynn Denis Millan lost her 6 year battle with cancer. Melissa fought like a warrior all the way. She passed with her loving family around her, she was 50 years old.
Let us not remember her in her fragile moments, let us remember her as we all knew her, a woman with grace. Melissa was a mother, a sister, a daughter, a cousin, a granddaughter, and an aunt. She was a friend, a wife, a partner, a co-worker, a student and a teacher. To some, she was a soulmate, a spiritual guide and elder.
She had an infectious laugh, instilled words of wisdom and was the face of honesty. She was a chef and used food as a way to bring friends and family together to the table, and in times to help people heal. To most of us, she was the wind beneath our wings, and helped us all to fly.
She was a World Trade Center Survivor, now a victim, another warrior lost.
With the heaviest of hearts, let it be known that she will be absolutely missed, for she existed, and now she is free. May the blessed Saint Kateri Tekakwitha and Sai Baba of Shirdi guide her spirit.
Melissa is survived by her three beautiful children, Edgar, Andrew and Breana Millan.
