Life Story for Mary L. Robinson

Mary Louise Robinson was born on June 26, 1937 in Manchester, Jamaica, West Indies, to Hyman and Dinata Pommells. She was the second of ten children. She is survived by her four sisters Zilla, Daisy, Belinda, Minnette, and one brother Mortimer. She attended the Chantilly All-Age School where she graduated.

She then moved to Kingston, Jamaica where she married the late Vincent Woodburn Robinson. From that union six children were born; Janice, Lorraine (Pat), Macxine (Dawn), Wayne, Richard, and Vanessa Robinson.

By all means, Mary was an entrepreneur. She was a homemaker who established several small businesses while living in Kingston, Jamaica. Her business adventures have taken her places such as England, South America and other Caribbean Islands. She remained close to her family by always involving them in the church. In Addition to her robust mind for business, she would always put the Almighty LORD first. She compelled us to attend church every Sunday, enrolled us in Catholic school and had us read the bible. She was also a true disciplinarian and loving person. She was not only a mother to her six children but also a mother figure to those who shared with the family.

In 1984 Mary migrated to Jamaica, Queens, USA. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant through private employment and later at Jamaica Hospital. During that time, she developed a close family bond with her colleagues. She provided them with many years of loyal service before retiring. Mary was introduced to Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church by her daughter Lorraine and after her retirement from Jamaica Hospital she then dedicated herself to the church serving in various capacities such as the Helping Hand, the Gospel Choir, First Lady Circle and Evangelism outreach. She maintained that stellar dedication until she could no longer serve, and was called home Father.

Mary Robinson, affectionately known as Ms. Rob was predeceased by her parents, Vincent Robinson, three brothers, Linton, Wilfred, Joseph, and one sister Pansy.

She leaves to mourn her six children Janice, Lorraine, Macxine, Wayne, Richard, and Vanessa. Eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren Abigail, Trinity and Noah. She is also survived by her sisters; Zilla, Daisy, Belinda, Minnette, and one brother Mortimer, and a plethora of nieces, nephews and extended family

On January 31, 2022, Mary Louise Robinson passed through the Gate of heaven. Therefore, her soul has departed this earth leaving behind her temporary vessel which we shall now lay to rest. Our memory of her will remain with us.
